Top Header Details

Any Virtual Receptionist configuration page includes a top header with the main information about the Virtual Receptionist you are creating or modifying:

  • Name: This is the name of your Virtual Receptionist. Default is Mary, but you can add a name of your choice. The configured name can then be automatically inserted into messages by using the corresponding tag <vrName>.

  • Language: This is the language used in this Virtual Receptionist for all generative voice transactions. Default is English (US), but you can choose among 9 different options:

    • ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ช Arabic (Gulf)

    • ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง English (United Kingdom)

    • ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ English (United States)

    • ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท French (France)

    • ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ French (Canada)

    • ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช German (Germany)

    • ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น Italian (Italy)

    • ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ Spanish (Spain)

    • ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Spanish (United States)

When you change the language, please note that all messages switch to either the default values for that language or to any custom values you may have previously configured for it.

Example:
Suppose the current language is English (US) and youโ€™ve customized the first message (โ€œHello! Thank you for calling our company, virtual receptionist speaking.โ€) to something specific for your case, such as:
โ€œHello! Thank you for calling ACME company, virtual receptionist speaking.โ€

Now, if you switch the language to Spanish (US), you can see that all messages are reset to their defaults in Spanish (US), including the one you have customized. In this case, the message becomes:
โ€œยกHola! Gracias por llamar a nuestra empresa, soy el asistente virtual.โ€

If you switch back to English (US), all messages return to their defaults in English (US), except for the initial message you have customized, which appears again in your personalized version.

Consider each language as a separate scenario, with its own set of default messages that you can freely customize. However, any changes you apply to messages in one language, apply only to that language and they are not carried over to others.

Another important note: customized messages are tied to a single Virtual Receptionist. For example, if you edit the welcome message in English (US), the change applies only to the specific Virtual Receptionist you are editing, not to other existing ones or any you may create in the future.

  • Voice: All listed languages support both Female (default) and Male voice options.

  • Description: The second header line lets you add a brief description of the Virtual Receptionist. This can be useful to summarize its purpose in a few words or to provide other information that may help the person managing the Virtual Receptionists.
