Welcome to the Contact Manager KB

Imagicle Contact Manager, included in Imagicle UCX on-prem and Cloud Suite, is the centralized directory solution for internal and external contacts management. Contact Manager lets you create an unlimited number of directories to hold the company contacts.

The directories can be browsed, searched and managed through an easy to use web interface or through other Imagicle applications (e.g. Attendant Console Professional/Enterprise, Operator Essentials, Digital Fax, Advanced Queuing...). The web interface also supports click-to-dial on Cisco UCM Calling Platforms.

The contacts can be added through the web interface, imported from a .csv file or synchronized with external data sources.

Contact Manager natively supports standard LDAP protocol, with a fixed fields mapping, as explained here. If you need to apply a different fields mapping or you wish to import contacts from other sources, Imagicle Meta Connector ver. 5.0 is available for synchronizing contacts from multiple source (MS Exchange, OpenLdap, ODBC database, CRM ...) and make them available to all the company employees.

Public, department and personal directories

Contact Manager allows to create three kind of directories:

  • Public directories: accessible by any employee;

  • Department directories: accessible by employees in relevant department;

  • Personal directories: each user can create and manage own directories. They are private and accessible by owner only.

Directories visibility are inherited by all Imagicle applications. Moreover, when you create a directory, you can choose whether all users can modify it or if the contacts are added or removed by administrators only.

Department Directories are suitable for large companies with many branches. With Contact Manager, handling thousands of contacts is very easy.

Contact Details

By default, Imagicle Contact Manager can hold five contact's particulars plus five phone numbers. "Smart Numbers" (speed dial) can be added in a Cisco UCM environment only.

If default contact details are not enough for your needs, you can activate up to ten additional "custom" fields.

The web interface can be fully customized. You can choose which field are available for contact search or for contact display in the results list.

Custom field are hidden by default. Displaying such fields on the web interface or on Cisco IP phones requires some internal settings tuning, as explained in this KB article.

Licensing

Contact Manager licensing is based on the number of internal Corporate users manually entered or provisioned from an external source. They are all granted the access to directories of external contacts, regardless if the access is from phones, mobile app, Attendant Console, Cisco Finesse, Jabber and Webex clients, web portal, caller lookup or other Imagicle applications.
Contact Manager license bundle includes 50 users (subscription) or 100 users (perpetual) . It is possible to purchase multiple licenses up to 25,000 users. More users might be handled on a project base.
