Getting started with Digital Fax

Digital Fax is the Imagicle fax server solution which offers several ways to handle incoming and outgoing fax transaction without the need of traditional fax machines and completely paper-less.

Configuration steps

  • Customers must have a clear idea about who is handling fax transactions and for which fax numbers. In this way, Imagicle UCX Suite can be provisioned with required fax named users and fax groups, each including multiple team/department members. Once this is done, Digital Fax knows how to route inbound and outbound faxes depending on involved users or fax groups.

  • Routing from/to the calling platform is based on SIP or H.323 VoIP trunking. All calling platforms and legacy PBX supporting SIP/H.323 trunks with T.38 are expected to work with Digital Fax solution. In this KB we explain native calling platform integrations for Cisco Cloud/on-prem and Microsoft Teams environments, documented in relevant sub-topics.

Email integrations

  • Sending/receiving faxes through the email client is a common and simple method used by several companies. In this sense, Digital Fax can be interfaced to any email server or Cloud-based email service thanks to the support of multiple standard protocols. Please check email-to-fax and fax-to-email articles for further details.

  • Digital Fax does not require any plug-in to be installed in email clients, because you can initiate an outbound fax transactions by sending a standard email including fax recipients in the subject field, attaching all required documents to send.
