Contact Manager Entp. Reverse Lookup

This menu option allows to enable and configure the reverse lookup feature, to display contact’s details upon incoming call to a telephony user.

The following options are available within this feature:

  • Popup mode → Pull-down menu to choose what’s Cisco technology to provide caller ID display:

    • Disabled → No reverse lookup feature.

    • CTI Popup → If the phone device is monitored via CTI, the application intercepts inbound call JTAPI signaling and trigger a popup window on IP Phones and mobile phones. This method is nowadays obsolete, so Imagicle strongly suggests to adopt below “External Call Control Profile”

    • External Call Control Profile → In this case, inbound call triggers an http call to Imagicle Contact Manager Entp. thanks to an ECC profile defined on purpose. Imagicle app searches across defined directories and if a contact is matched, it returns caller ID data to be displayed on phone device.

    • CTI Popup + External Call Control Profile → Select this option if you wish to get both ECC and CTI popups upon inbound call. Not recommended.

  • Action when several contacts found → If the same phone number is associated to multiple contacts, then the reverse lookup popup includes common particulars only.

  • No CTI Popup if no contact found → Flag this option to avoid useless CTI popup when no contacts are matched against calling number.

  • Search on last phone number's digits → If flagged, the contacts are matched against a smaller number of phone number’s last digits, entered in the field besides it. Don’t flag it, if you wish to perform an exact phone number match.

  • Auto. internal/external detection (CTI) → Check this flag to automatically detect internal or external inbound phone call.

Internal phone numbers

This section allows to properly handle inbound calls from internal extensions, by removing useless prefix or enable/disable popups:

  • Internal number dial prefix → Add here the prefix which is normally added to dial the internal extensions, to make sure the number is matched against a contact.

  • Directory to query → This pull-down menu includes the list of all Directory Entries where Reverse Lookup label is defined.

  • Display name on ringing → Check this flag to get caller ID popup while phone is ringing.

  • CTI Popup duration while ringing → When using CTI Popup, you can configure for how long the caller ID popup persists on IP Phone screen. After the timeout (in seconds), the popup is automatically removed. “0” means you need to manually close the pop-up.

  • CTI popup when connected → As an alternative to “Display name on ringing”, you can check this flag to trigger caller ID popup upon call answer.

  • CTI Popup duration while connected → When using CTI Popup, you can configure for how long the caller ID popup persists on IP Phone screen. After the timeout (in seconds), the popup is automatically removed. “0” means you need to manually close the pop-up.

External phone numbers

This section allows to properly handle inbound calls from external numbers, by removing useless prefix or enable/disable popups:

  • Directory to query → This pull-down menu includes the list of all Directory Entries where Reverse Lookup label is defined.

  • Prefix to replace → Here you can add a couple of prefixes which should be removed or replaced by another ones, to properly match the phone numbers included in Imagicle contacts.

  • External number dial prefix → This is the prefix to consider for the local area code.

  • Phone number format after prefix → Here you can add a mask to obtain the proper phone number to be matched against Imagicle contacts. For example, calling number is 953,772,157; with prefix = "0" and mask = "+44 (#) # # # # # # # # #", it triggers a search for +44 (0) 9 53 77 21 57.

Please bear in mind that above number manipulations are only used for matching calling numbers upon inbound calls. For outbound calls, different rules are applied here.
