How to migrate archived recordings from a 3rd party recording appliance
Imagicle team is available to help you migrating existing recordings from another vendor's system, providing the following requirements are satisfied.
Requirements
recordings must be shared in an unencrypted format
file format can be either MP3 or Wav
metadata associated to each recording must be accessible through a text (unencrypted) file. The data format can be JSON, XML or CSV
metadata file must include at least:
caller party
called party
start date/time
duration
session id
there must be a way to associate metadata with the relevant audio file (for example by leveraging the session id)
Limitations
Imagicle can import audio recordings only
by default, we import audio+metadata only. Optionally, we can export additional information and store them in the recording notes, using the format “key1: value1 | key2: value2”. Additional information must be available in the same metadata file, along with the other mandatory data. Recording’s notes have a limit of 1024 characters
Each recording is matching the Imagicle user in two possible ways:
using the extension number. For each recording we try to look up the relevant Imagicle user using the extension number available in the metadata file. If not found, the recording is associated to a catch-all user (relevant metadata is still available)
all the imported recordings are just associated to a catch-all user. Relevant metadata is still available
Custom Script development
Imagicle develops a script on purpose to migrate existing recordings. To evaluate migration feasibility and relevant efforts, customer must provide to Imagicle:
4-5 recordings + metadata samples
how these files are reachable from the Imagicle server. Typically, recordings to be imported are copied into the Imagicle UCX Suite instance or into a shared network folder.
total size and total number of the recordings to be migrated.
